BLACKPINK Returns After 2 Years and 10 Months with Explosive New Single “JUMP”

Global K-pop sensation BLACKPINK has made a long-awaited return as a full group after 2 years and 10 months. On July 11 at 1 p.m. KST, they dropped their new digital single “JUMP,” instantly dominating global charts and sparking a wave of excitement among fans worldwide.

“JUMP” is a hardstyle-based track infused with Western movie-inspired guitar riffs and a high-energy chorus. Produced by longtime collaborators TEDDY and 24, with additional contributions from international songwriters, the song showcases BLACKPINK’s bold musical evolution and fearless experimentation.

The music video, directed by Grammy-winning filmmaker Dave Meyers, adds another layer of intrigue. With its cinematic scale and unconventional visuals, the video quickly became a hot topic online. While many praised its creativity and bold concept—calling it “epic” and “so BLACKPINK”—some viewers found it polarizing, with comments describing it as “bizarre” and “divisive.” Still, the general response has leaned heavily positive, with fans appreciating the group’s fresh direction.

Chart performance was equally impressive. Upon release, “JUMP” shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart in 47 countries, while ranking No. 3 in the U.S. and No. 4 in the U.K. The track also received Platinum certification from China’s QQ Music and topped Japan’s AWA real-time Hot Trending Songs chart. In South Korea, the song soared to No. 1 on Naver VIBE and Bugs, and landed in the top tiers on Melon and Genie.

The music video garnered over 26 million views within 24 hours, ranking No. 1 on YouTube’s global trending and Top Music Video lists on its release day.

YG Entertainment commented, “This digital single marks the beginning of BLACKPINK’s large-scale activities in the second half of 2025. While additional albums or new releases have not been officially announced, we’ll soon be sharing more exciting news that will meet the expectations of global fans.”

The group has also launched a massive world tour starting this July in Goyang, South Korea. The tour will cover 31 shows in 16 cities, including stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. BLACKPINK plans to actively engage in both group and solo promotions during this period.
