(G)I-DLE has officially turned the page and stepped into a bold new chapter—now reintroducing themselves as simply i-dle.
To celebrate their 7th debut anniversary, the group (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua) dropped a special mini album titled “We are i-dle” on May 2 at 6PM KST. This commemorative release features nine of their greatest hits—completely re-recorded with the current five-member lineup. Think LATATA, HANN (Alone), Senorita, Oh my god, LION, and more—all reborn with a fresh twist of nostalgia and growth.
The title We are i-dle drops the “G” as a symbolic farewell, reflecting their move from (G)I-DLE to just i-dle. It’s more than a name change—it’s a redefinition. By removing the “G” (often seen as “GIRL” or “GENDER”), the group embraces a more limitless identity—free from categories, expectations, or labels. No parentheses, no qualifiers. Just i-dle.
And that’s not all—alongside the album, i-dle teased fans with the first concept photos from their upcoming 8th mini album, set to release on May 19. Dressed in gothic-inspired looks and mysterious elegance, the visuals carry the same emotional energy as their pre-release video “for (G),” further hinting at a powerful comeback.
The celebration continues with a special 7th anniversary YouTube live on May 2 at 10PM KST, where the members will meet fans in real-time and reflect on their journey—from debut to reinvention.
With a new name, reimagined hits, and an exciting comeback ahead, i-dle is ready to kick off their next era—and Neverland is here for all of it.
